Types of Synbone models

Cortical / Cancellous bone models

Cortical / Cancellous bone models
A cortical layer and an inner foam layer representing the cancellous bone (this layer may include an intramedullary canal). Soft cancellous bone is used in models designed for total joint replacements and internal fixation on long bones. Medium cancellous bone can be used in the same applications as the soft cancellous bone as well as for external fixation and reference mark pinning. Hard cancellous bone is used for mainly for external fixation.

Osteoporotic models / open cell

Osteoporotic models / open cell
Long bone models with a thin cortical layer and an open cell cancellous section at the proximal and distal ends. The properties of the inlay allow all application techniques of cement injection. All models may be fractured and delivered with defects on request.

Solid foam models

Solid foam models
For general anatomy, these models consist of a single solid rigid foam including an intramedullary canal when required. Most commonly used for external fixation and pinning.

Transparent Cortical bone models

Transparent Cortical bone models
A transparent cortical shell covering cancellous regions at the distal and proximal ends. At the mid shaft of long bones this transparent shell forms an intramedullary canal. These models are therefore mostly used in the training of intramedullary fixation where x-ray is normally required.

Soft tissue models

Soft tissue models
We have developed foam coating in order to present a more realistic situation when simulating surgical procedures and positioning implants for minimally invasive techniques.

Structured models

Structured models
In situations where operating techniques require the presence of soft tissue landmarks, we offer bone models with stylized soft tissue structures including muscles, ligaments, nerves, arteries and veins. We also offer realistic skin so that endoscopic surgery can be simulated.

Functional muscle models

Functional muscle model
These models are designed for specific orthopaedic surgery training such as hip replacement. Main structures such as muscles and nerves are attached. Fully functional movement allows for realistic access and training. Replacement parts can be purchased separately.

Arthroscopic models

Arthroscopic models
For wet or dry examination, these models are the ideal match for operative arthroscopy techniques. Inner structures such as capsules and ligaments combine part functionality and a picture very close to reality.

Generic models

Generic models
These models have highly simplified shapes such as rods, spheres, sheets and blocks. They are ideal for basic instruction and ballistic testing.

Torso models

Torso models
Modular built torso models with exchangeable bone segments and organs for interdisciplinary group training.

GI models

GI models
Open and laparoscopic surgery can be trained on these Gastro intestinal models. Their modular design allows the placement of wet specimens in the anatomically shaped cavities. Easy assembling and cleaning. Available only on request.

Transparent models

Transparent models
These transparent models are designed for product display purposes and can be delivered with stands and a custom logo. All implant mounting and finishing details according to your requirements. Please contact us for further information and pricing.

Demonstration models

Demonstration models
These durable white hard plastic anatomical bone models are designed for patient demonstration. Most joints are fully functional.
